Windows 7 Beta Upgrade: Outlook 2007 Problems

Other people have commented on stability issues with Word 2007.  I haven’t seen any of those.  But I have noticed issues with Outlook 2007.

I probably spend equal time viewing my email on my main desktop (which is now Windows 7 Beta) and my Samsung Epix, which allowed me to find this issue.  There are times (maybe once every day or two) when Outlook 2007 stops being able to download email from my various sources.  Usually, it will give a send and receive error, but at least once, it didn’t indicate any errors, yet wouldn’t download any new email (which I knew I had from my phone).  Shutting down Outlook and restarting it always fixed the problem, but this obviously is an issue.

I have the exact same problem. Except that it is happening every couple hours. What AV are you using? I have the kaspersky preview installed, not sure if there is another commonality that we can find.

I'm using Avast. It happens at least once a day now also. Strange.

Mine kept crashing whenever pictures were downloaded. I went into tools>trust center>Automatic Download>Don't download pictures automatically HTML e-mail messages or RSS items.

After I enabled that feature, all my problems went away - accept that none of the pictures are downloaded. I think this has to do with something with IE since that would crash as well. I loaded Firefox and that problem went away, but the Outlook downloads did not fix. So, the "Don't download" trust feature remains in force.

Hmm. I don't have any trouble with pictures, or with IE for that matter. I could try it for a day or two to see if email stopped working.

I'm having problems as well with Outlook after the Windows 7 install. Pictures are gone in mail, even with trust settings properly adjusted. I suppose I should expect some issues...

Since going to Win 7 beta, I've had the same issues with Outlook 2007. Haven't noticed any issues with the other office suite programs such as Word or Onenote.

The error I receive: Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. cannot open the Outlook window.

I've tried running the program in various compatibility modes with the same result.
Also using Avast AV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. And right after Outlook 2007 started having problems. Re-starting outlook seemed to help but now Windows closes the program.
I repaired Outlook and that did not help it either.

:

That sounds like a general installation error that has nothing to do with Windows 7 itself.

I had Best Buy load Windows 7 and now my outlook has been removed from my computer. Is there any fix for this withour buying the 110.00 program?

Without knowing how you had it loaded before, that is almost impossible to say. If you can't use any other mail program (Microsoft has the free Windows Live Mail program, which is one option), and you don't have a CD of Outlook previously, then you will have to purchase it.

Another reason to love Best Buy. They should have known to talk to you about the applications you already had and avoided this problem.

I tried to set up an away from office message process. Followed all instructions but I get an error message when Outlook tries to send the message template. It seems that there is a path for sending messages for Windows XP and Vista but there is no path for 7
